…the late artist’s friend and live-in companion. It’s a well written book but it has some short falls. For one it seems difficult to feel attached or care much about most of the characters, we don’t really get to know what kind of people they are. A key setting, the island which the artist lived on and created much of her work, unfortunately does not seem to increase the tension although it undoubtably should – being cut off by the tide twice a day. It has the ingredients of something interesting but falls a little flat in execution. The writing helps save it though.
